Blitzkrieg! Rulebook

We know that some of our backers will want to read through the rulebook to explore the rules in more detail. You can check out the rulebook HERE:-  Blitzkrieg rulebook

Please note that this is a draft file of the rules – the same version of the rulebook that we sent out with our prototype copies – so a number of small changes will be made to the final, published rulebook.

New Solo Mode!

Fantastic news on Blitzkrieg Solo Mode!

David Turczi is certain he can create a cool solo mode. I will let him provide more details further in the week but suffice to say it is going to happen.

I have slipped in a new stretch goal at £6500 to add this new solo mode to the main game.

How to play...
about 5 years ago – Sun, Mar 10, 2019 at 04:43:28 PM

Blitzkrieg! is super simple to play - the hard part is out-thinking and out-playing your opponent!

To win, you must win 25 or more war victory points before your opponent. You can also win an economic victory if your opponent is unable to place a counter.

The board shows five theatres of operations in World War Two: Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the Pacific Ocean, Africa & The Middle East, and South East Asia. A battle track running along the top of each theatre shows which player is currently winning there.

Each theatre of operations contains two or three campaigns, represented by a row of battle spaces. Players take it in turns to deploy units to these campaigns to swing battles in their favour. Your units are kept hidden behind a screen, and consist of a combination of armies, navies, airforces, a general, and an admiral. You can also research special weapons such as task forces, a spy, a scientist, and a nuclear bomb!

On your turn, you choose one of the units behind your screen and place it on an unoccupied space on any active campaign. Some units have restrictions – armies may only be placed on land or shared land and sea spaces, and navies may only be place on sea or shared land and sea spaces.

When you place your unit, you immediately carry out the effect of the icon shown in that battle space. Battle space effects range from adding additional units and researching special weapons, through to bombing your opponent and claiming propaganda victories (which earn you additional war victory points). Some units also have a special effect.

Next, the theatre of operations’ battle track moves towards your end of the track the number of spaces shown on your placed unit.

If the unit you just placed occupies the final unoccupied space on a campaign line, the campaign is closed, and the number war victory points shown beside the campaign are awarded to the player currently winning on the battle track.

If the battle track marker occupies the final space at your end of the track, you immediately win the entire theatre of operations and claim any remaining war victory points and unoccupied battle spaces effects.

At the end of your turn, you pick a random unit from your supply to replenish your military might. And then it’s your opponent’s turn to strike back...
